Google offers a lot of channels on which to advertise and settings you can play with to best achieve your campaign goals. But what if you want to coordinate a campaign that’s not limited to one channel, without dealing with tediously applying settings across so many broad approaches? Enter the newly-introduced Performance Max. What is Performance Max and how is it useful? Performance Max is a new campaign type from Google that’s based on your identifiable goals for a campaign. It gives you the ability to use all your Google […]
When it comes to PPC marketing, there are many aspects that go into an effective campaign. Alternatively, this also means there are many areas where, if not done right, your effectiveness can be reduced. Here we have some recommendations for approaches you can take to increase the efficiency of your PPC accounts. It pays to be lazy Seriously — your goal here is to not have to do extra work. This is of course because extra work is extra time, which is definitely avoidable. Furthermore, besides valuing getting “lazy” because […]
What’s changing about Google Ads Starting June 2021, Google’s updating their policy regarding advertising for healthcare and medicines. Already, pharmaceutical companies are only allowed to advertise prescription drugs in Canada, New Zealand, and the US, and they’re not allowed to advertise opioid prescription painkillers in any countries. The list of countries where they can advertise over-the-counter medications is larger, but still includes fewer countries than where you can’t advertise over-the-counter medicine. Similarly, online pharmacies have to be certified in order to run ads on Google. What will be new with […]
A while back we gave a beginner’s overview on advertising on YouTube on the Fujisan blog. That piece included a quick look at the different ad types available, and recently we’ve been wanting to look at those closer. So today, we’re focusing on just that — the ad types and their uses and benefits. There are six choices when advertising on YouTube: Skippable in-stream ads Non-skippable in-stream ads Video discovery ads Bumper ads Outstream ads Masthead ads Let’s start at the beginning with the first. Skippable in-stream ads Example of […]
If you’re running a business in 2020, you’ve got an online presence. (Or, at least, we really, really hope you do.) And if you’ve got an online presence, you’re hopefully doing the work to expand that presence through organic and advertising efforts. And if your advertising includes YouTube, there’s a handy little tool that can help you make the most out of your effort there. That tool’s called Reach Planner, and it’s your friend. Here’s why. So, what is YouTube Reach Planner? In one sentence: It’s a Google Ads tool […]
Worried about keeping up with Google’s algorithm and its occasional changes? First off, don’t be. (Or, don’t really be.) Google recently had a significant core update that’s worth dissecting, but in the end it’s mostly a good excuse to discuss A) Google’s priorities and B) how they affect you. This change should not mean an overhaul of your content strategies — unless said strategies needed overhauling anyway — but Google shows they’re continuing to place increasing significance on content integrity and quality. Here’s what we know: What is this “Google […]
So, you want to improve your Google Ads campaigns? Enter Google Ads Campaign Experiments, or ACE for short. ACE is a feature that helps you measure the impact of potential changes before applying them to a campaign. When used properly, it does this as a vehicle for A/B testing. As we discussed in our previous post, A/B testing is essentially a process applying basic scientific principles to digital advertising. Following the first things we learned in elementary school science, this is achieved by comparing two versions of a campaign wherein […]
In essence, Google Ads scripts are simple JavaScript-based scripts that automate your Google Ads’ basic procedures and their reactions to and interactions with external data. (They also shouldn’t be confused with Google Apps Scripts, which allow users to create and publish add-ons that consolidate and enhance Google-based apps.) Google Ads Scripts help you save time and other resources in the long run, since they can automate common procedures that otherwise would have to be done manually. These procedures can include automatically adjusting keyword bid based on impression share. Scripts can […]
In 2006, the word “Google” was added to the Oxford English Dictionary. Its induction is a representation of how Google has grown from a fleeting pop culture reference to a permanent part of our world history. With Google planted firmly as the biggest, baddest search engine monster in the industry, do alternative search engines like Bing even stand a chance to compete against it or share its spotlight? And what does that mean for digital advertising? At Fujisan Marketing, we get asked about Bing all the time, often as it […]
