We are pleased to announce a new member of the Fujisan Marketing team, Dascha Bright. We sat down with Dascha to learn more about her background in digital marketing as well as her hobbies outside of the workplace.
Tell us about your Marketing background prior to joining Fujisan Marketing.
I’ve worked in digital advertising for most of my career, mainly leading client service and operations teams that support brands, agencies, and web publishers using SaaS technology to meet their campaign and monetization goals for programmatic display and online video at aQuantive/Atlas, Microsoft, Razorfish, and Extreme Reach (XR).
Why do you love digital marketing?
It’s rewarding when the right message resonates with the right person and leads to finding a valuable product or service at the right time. There’s a lot of science, some creativity, and a sprinkling of magic fairy dust to make that happen!
How do you feel about being a professional in our industry?
Advertising technologies and methodologies are always evolving, so I get to keep learning and applying that knowledge — I am motivated by helping others to succeed, whether that is offering a solution to a client’s business need or supporting my teammates in their professional growth.
What are some hobbies that you really enjoy?
I continue to expand the vegetable garden in my backyard, I’m trying to get better at “succession planting”, so that crops ripen at different times throughout the season, rather than all at once. I’m also trying seed saving (hint: they like to be somewhere cool and dark and dry over the winter). My favorite things that I grew last year were carrots and romaine lettuce. This year I plan to try to grow pinto beans for the first time.
I often listen to true crime podcasts when I am taking a walk or doing repetitive work like cooking or folding laundry.
I’m trying some new recipes… a couple that turned out really good recently were a baked ricotta and blueberry pancake (like a big custardy muffin, almost) and a mushroom, spinach and cheese tart (the phyllo dough crust was a bit of a pain).
Where is your next big vacation?
Ooooh, I am not sure. I went to Reykjavik, Iceland in the fall — a bucket list destination! It is a beautiful country, the people are so nice, and the food was terrific.
